Aluminum hypophosphite, referred to as ALHP, is a new type of inorganic phosphorus flame retardant with the chemical formula Al(H2PO2)3. It is slightly soluble in water, not easy to volatilize, and has high phosphorus content and good thermal stability.

It makes the applied products have high flame retardancy, strong thermal stability, excellent mechanical properties, and weather resistance. It is non-volatile under the usual conditions of preparing and processing thermoplastic polymers. The polymer composition containing aluminum hypophosphite shows high flame retardancy. The products manufactured can pass various flame retardant grade tests and can reduce its production costs by up to 60%.

Because aluminum hypophosphite has high phosphorus and aluminum content, it has the advantages of good thermal stability, low water solubility and high flame retardant effect. ALHP is suitable for flame retardant modification of PBT, PET, PA, TPU, and ABS.

However, please pay attention to the appropriate use of other stabilizers and coupling agents when applying it, and it can be used after compounding with other phosphorus nitrogen flame retardants APP, MC, or MCA. For polyester or polyester-based TPU, only 8-12% of this product is needed to meet the flame retardant requirements, and for SEBS, 25-35% is needed to meet the flame retardant requirements.
